How we handle a request
- 1
We verify it
It has to be valid, come from an authority with jurisdiction over us and name what it wants.
- 2
We narrow it
We push back on anything too broad and hand over only what the law requires.
- 3
We tell you
We notify the customer before responding, unless the law forbids it.
- 4
We count it
Every request is counted in the report below, whatever the outcome.
Requests received
Reporting starts at launch. From then on every request is counted here, twice a year.
Warrant canary
A dated, signed statement that we have not received secret orders we would be forbidden to mention. If it stops being renewed, that silence is the message.
The first signed statement will be published at launch.
